COMBAT THE MONSTER

His (6 years old) paintings are always in black, there’s a man with sharp teeth hidden in the drawing.

He (7 years old) says there are rodents and snakes in the cave. He’s constantly sealing the cave to prevent them from coming out.

She (8 years old) says she’s frightened of the people here so she has to keep running to escape the things that we do not understand are often disguised into monsters that frighten us and causes us to be anxious, sad and emotional swings. Creative Arts and Play Therapy can help us to combat these monsters and dissolve these negative energies within us.

We are born to play, draw and make sounds. These natural languages of humans connect seamlessly with the feelings and strengths inside each one of us.  Developed by sound psychologists, play and creative arts therapy is proven evidently to enable a positive change. Through the therapeutic process, participants will be able to come to terms with their inner feelings and resolve their psycho-social and emotional issues through the process. Children will be able to find their inner resources to manage their problems. This inner power of theirs will bring forward positivity to connect them with their social surroundings.​

FILIAL THERAPY

 

Some people say “Children are mirrors of parents.”

 

When children throw a temper tantrum, cry or yell, or when their emotions fluctuate… what is this mirror telling you?  Their behavior only tells you their outward trouble, but what are their underlying feelings, reasons, and solutions needed? The answers require your further understanding, involvement, and help to them.

 

Filial therapy is a kind of family therapy. It focuses on improving and repairing the parent-child relationship. Parents are facilitated to relieve their children’s emotional and behavioral problems through filial therapy training and practice. Its ultimate goal is for parents to progressively apply the related techniques learned from their training into their daily interaction with their children. Filial therapy helps to increase attachment security between parent and children as well as parents’ confidence to provide proper parenting and develop self-esteem in their children.  

DIR FLOOR TIME 

 

Floortime is the application of DIR model (Developmental, Individual Differences, and Relationship-based model) into play practice. DIR model was developed by Dr. Greenspan. Floortime (also known as DIRFloortime) approach enhances children’s development through a respectful, playful, joyful and engaging process. It emphasizes the significant role of relationships and emotional connection between the therapist and the child client as well as between the parents and the child in strengthening the child’s development through promoting the child’s positive engagement, communication, behaviors and thinking process.   This model has been widely applied in supporting children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) and with other developmental challenges. 

COUNSELLING SERVICE

Counselling Service is available to any person who may prefer talk therapy. Most of our therapists hold a Degree in Master of Counselling who are trained with counseling skills as their foundation. The scope of counseling service can be extended from individuals to couple or family.
